When our doggos showcase their incredible intelligence, it always leaves us with our jaws dropped. It’s simply amazing how our puppers can solve problems especially when there is food involved. Unfortunately, the combination of their high IQ and their insatiable love for food can sometimes lead to them misbehaving.
The Golden Retriever in the viral video below is one of those puppers who have completely gone to the dark side. This cute pooch is Sterling. He is breathtakingly handsome and he pretty much looks like a furry angel. However, don’t let this doggo’s good looks fool you.
Sterling is actually a criminal! He likes to take his humans’ shoes and the pupper holds on to them until he receives a ransom. The pup’s owner, Diane Newton, explained that Sterling used to be a well-behaved boy. But that all changed when the dog mom saw her pooch with one of her shoes in his mouth!
Diane chased after the doggo but he wouldn’t let go of the shoe. Then the dog mom decided to give the pooch a doggie treat in exchange for the shoe and it worked! Little did Diane know that she was giving birth to a furry little monster who would always steal their footwear!
After that incident, Sterling started stealing shoes left and right. When he couldn’t get hold of Diane’s shoes, the pooch started taking shoes from other members of the family! Sterling knew that he would get doggie treats every time he did this and we think it’s hilarious how he one-upped his humans.
Doggos love taking footwear from their humans because it is filled with their scents. So it’s kind of funny that Sterling does this for a completely different reason.
