How often do people encounter dogs that love to hear music? The ones that like to sing along or howl with the rhythm are hard to come by. Fortunately for the couple David and Mikaela, they found a dog just like this.
The couple first saw a video of the dog, Birks, singing with his foster parent playing the clarinet. Mikaela saw an opportunity to adopt a dog who shared the same love for music. It just so happens that Mikaela and David are musicians.
Birks was a stray on the streets of Busan in South Korea. He was tired and hungry, so a woman took him in and fixed him up. He was later sent to New York City to a Korean K9 rescue organization. Finally, Birks ended up in the hands of the musical couple.
The couple loved having a dog that appreciates the music they make. Birks would often sing along to anything they play. One time the dog sang with an album being played in the living room.
Mikaela would often have trouble practicing because Birks always sings louder than her. However, she doesn’t mind the duets. She welcomes the competition.
Birks lives in a house full of music. There are instruments everywhere, and there’s not a second of silence. David usually practices piano in the morning, and Birks would be there to sing along.
Mikaela and David couldn’t be happier with their current situation. Birks was the right fit for their family. Perhaps many musician couples would love to be in their shoes.
Some people who saw this story asked whether the couple’s neighbor gets annoyed by all the music. At the same time, other people speculated that the couple would make sure to surround their house with soundproof material. Perhaps their neighbors are music lovers as well and don’t mind hearing them practice.
