If Chowder the Bulldog could choose what thing he loved the most, it would most likely be his skateboard. And if he could probably skate every waking hour, he would do it. And he would even gladly sleep beside his skateboard if his mom would ever allow it. That was how much he loved it.
His obsession with skateboarding started during one trip to the beach. They were walking along the shore when they saw a child with a skimboard. Chowder immediately jumped into the board and started riding it across the water. The mother and daughter just looked at each other amazed and wondered at the same time if Chowder would enjoy a skateboard just as much.
They got him an old skateboard and he just rode it on his stomach and started rolling across their driveway. He was very focused and he did not accept any help from anyone. Chowder definitely wanted to learn to ride on his own and he enjoyed it.
But his old Goodwill board was not wide enough for him so they got him a new skateboard. And when Chowder finally saw his new board, he couldn’t contain his excitement and happiness and kept jumping up and down.
He continued to practice skateboarding and the next thing they knew, he was cruising with it. A year later and he could ride the skateboard with so much ease like a professional. And he refused to let go of his board whenever it was time to go home. He would always throw the biggest tantrum.
Every day, Chowder would sit by the front door waiting for the time that he could go out into the driveway and just ride. He was always ready to go and he never got tired of skateboarding. It was the best thing ever in his life.
