A teenager recently earned praises from netizens after his story of how he saved a dog made rounds online. The dog had been stuck in a creek in Caloocan City, Philippines, overnight. She would have been dead if it weren’t for him.
Nini Ragos was off to the market when she saw the dog. It was in the middle of the creek and wouldn’t stop quivering. The dog was doing everything she possibly could to keep herself warm.
Finally safe
Worried that something terrible might happen to the dog, Ragos immediately called for help. Among those who heard her was a teenager living nearby. When he saw the dog, he sprung into action and looked for ways to rescue her.
The young man climbed down and made his way towards the dog. He then placed her inside a pink basket with a rope tied to it. After making sure that the dog wouldn’t fall off, he asked his peers to grab the other end of the rope and pull the basket up. Ragos, along with other passersby, cheered when they saw that the dog was finally safe.
Mama dog’s home
According to some of the residents, the dog’s owners had to leave to visit their relatives. They asked their neighbors to take care of her. It seems that the dog fell down the creek while going out for a stroll.
Ragos and the rest are also looking into the possibility of foul play since they saw metal pipes nearby. They also noticed the dog could not move her hind legs.
The teenager didn’t know that he saved more than one life that day. It turns out, the dog had six puppies waiting for her to breastfeed them.
Stories like this remind us of how powerful the forces of the universe are. If Ragos hadn’t seen the dog, the teenager wouldn’t have known that someone in the creek needed to be saved.
