A dog from Helsinki, Finland, came home covered with mud all over his body except for his face. Meet Onni, a five-month-old adorable Samoyed.
Samoyeds are sometimes known as walking clouds because of their cloud-like furs.
Unfortunately, this Samoyed puppy showed up wet and muddy upon returning home. His innocent face pushing through the mud was the only recognizable part left on him.
The pup’s owner, Lotta Alajoki, said that Onni was playing in the mud with his sister and one of their dogs on a cloudy day.
She said that they were worried at first about how they were going to get Onni but all they could do was to laugh while looking at his muddy body.
She added that Onni looked so funny that they had to take pictures of him.
Lotta posted photos of the adorable Onni on her Instagram account. However, some were not convinced by the clean face of the puppy while his body was covered in mud.
She was even accused of faking the puppy’s pictures on social media.
Lotta said that many people think the photos were edited or the mud is washed off, but it was not. She also added that after every play date and mud walk, Onni returns home, always looking like that.
She explained that Onni’s face remains clean and white because his furs on the face are shorter than the rest of his body. That’s the reason why the mud does not stick to the puppy’s face, keeping it clear of mud.
As other dog owners will know, Samoyeds are not very difficult to clean. Luckily, Onni’s fur is a double-layer coat. The outer layer fur was keeping the under-layer clean, so the dirt is easy to remove once it has dried out.
