During a trip to San Antonio, Texas, a family noticed that their dog Max went missing. Despite little hope of the dog’s return, a search party was done and a miracle took place.
Lost guy
Deputy Perez from the Bexar County Sheriff’s office was doing his rounds one day when he came across a white stray dog in the local neighborhood. He called for the cute little guy and noticed how friendly he was to people.
While looking at the canine, Perez thought he looked awfully familiar. As he took an even closer look, he realized that the stray resembled a lost dog flyer back at the substation.
Perez quickly picked up the dog and rushed back to the station. When looked at a flyer, he knew it was the same one. He called for Max’s family on the number provided and confirmed that it was indeed the same canine.
Tears of joy
After a few minutes, the family came to see the dog and the two little daughters started crying. Turns out, they were really fond of Max and his disappearance left a mark on them.
The family couldn’t stop hugging and kissing Max during their mini-reunion. They also thanked Deputy Perez for his good memory and his perseverance in returning the dog home.
Although Max lived on his own for months, he looked like he was in good condition. No one has any idea how the little dog managed himself out in the open but they were just glad he was safe.
The sheriff’s office shared photos of the tear-jerking reunion with the story posted in the caption. A lot of netizens were so happy for the family and the post went viral thanks to thousands of dog lovers.
Losing your dog was one of the most heartbreaking incidents so the sheriff’s office was glad to have helped when they could. Now, Max doesn’t have to worry about sleeping alone or finding his next meal because he’s safe and sound with his family.
