Most stray dogs go about their daily routine trying to survive and put food in their mouth whenever and wherever opportunities arise. But there are also some who desire more than just a tennis ball and bones and will do everything to acquire such a dream at any cost.
Well, a one-year-old lab-mix from eastern North Carolina, named Sisu, did an absolutely unusual thing for a dog. The pup broke into Dollar General trying to steal a stuffed purple unicorn repeatedly. When Animal Control came to apprehend the thief pup, the officer, Samantha Lane, saw the pup standing by the entrance waiting for people to walk out the door. Thereafter, he would slide himself inside and attempt to get the unicorn single-handedly.
To get his attention, the officer purchased the said unicorn and put it straight away in her vehicle’s front seat. Because of his obsession with the toy, Sisu rushed to jump into the truck upon seeing his most desired unicorn inside. He was taken to Duplin County Animal Services afterward for temporary shelter.
While at the shelter, Sisu showcased a handful of commands he himself knew and his well-mannered and affectionate personality toward people. Not to mention, the adorable pup carries around his beloved unicorn all the time even in his sleep.
A word about Sisu surfaced on social media after the shelter posted his unparalleled story along with his touching photos on their Facebook page. Thus, a long list of prospect adopters showed interest in meeting him together with his precious unicorn. Since nobody presented themselves as the pup’s owner, Sisu together with his stuffed unicorn was formally adopted into a loving family in no time.
People around the globe then commended how the officer, Samantha, handled the situation very well. Dollar General also vouched to donate some pet food at the shelter and some extra purple unicorns to adorable Sisu and his new family.
Even though Sisu failed to acquire the unicorn himself, in return, he successfully captured people’s affection all over the country. At the end of the day, Sisu gained more than what he expected: a newfound loving family and his much-loved purple unicorn to keep him company.
