Many people think that Pit Bulls are vicious dogs that are hard to train. Because of the negative things we hear about Pit Bulls on TV, we often associate these dogs with crime and dog attacks. Thankfully, many people advocating for Pit Bulls are slowly changing people’s minds about the breed.
One particular Pit Bull challenged the stereotype and has been quite successful. A Pit Bull named Kiah was found abandoned outside a grocery store parking lot. Nobody was paying any attention to Kiah because of her breed and most people avoided her thinking that she’s a vicious dog.
However, nothing can really be further from the truth. Kiah is a sweet dog who was only looking for her family. Thankfully, she was rescued and her intelligence and personality made her a perfect candidate to become a K9 officer. Kiah trained in a K9 training program in New York and she was the first-ever Pit Bull that graduated and become a K9 officer in New York.
Kiah trained with Officer Justin Bruzgul and the two are still working together keeping the streets of Poughkeepsie safe from crime. Kiah is an amazing dog who has great concentration skills and confidence. This proves that Pit Bulls can be trained and Kiah even took it to the next level by becoming a K9 officer.
Kiah is a great addition to the team and she’s an incredibly sweet dog that everyone at the police station loves. Kiah now has a great career detecting narcotics and she also does a great job at intimidating criminals. Kiah may have started as a displaced dog who was abandoned by her owner but she proved that she can be a great dog.
As the first Pit Bull to become a K9 officer in New York, Kiah is paving the way for Pit Bulls to become a part of the police force. Kiah also helps in changing the way people think about Pit Bulls. Here’s an amazing video of how Kiah was rescued and how she became a K9 officer.
