We all know that pets deserve a home filled with love and care, but we are faced with the reality that not all of them are given one. Far too often, people take even less care than they should of their pets. This was what animal rescuers from Dallas, Texas saw for themselves upon finding an abandoned Sharpei mix, shivering inside a crate on an isolated road.
Later named Benny, the Sharpei mix the rescuers found was visibly shaking. Without anyone looking out for him, all he had was a crate to cramp in so he could keep himself warm.
When these rescuers approached the cold and seemingly lonely pup, they’d be shocked to discover that another pooch was nearby, watching the entire situation unfold. As it turns out, Benny wasn’t alone after all. The second pooch, whom they later named Betty, didn’t seem to have any plans leaving her newfound pal behind, knowing they’re going through the same thing.
Although Benny and Betty kept each other company in the isolated place the entire time, this also meant that both of them had to share what little scraps they could find just to survive. It was unclear to the rescuers when their last meal was, but they were sure of one thing: these pups were desperately hungry.
Thankfully, the rescuers saved these pups from the dangerous situation they were in. Benny and Betty were brought to a shelter where they’d get treated for the injuries they had. Although the medical treatment for the pups proved to be expensive, the volunteers taking care of them didn’t hesitate to pull out some extra cash. These pups were fortunate to come across kind-hearted individuals who were willing to give them a second shot at life, no matter the cost.
