The life of Gizmo, a male Shih Tzu owned by All Bail Bonds secretary Mandy Garner, was put at risk after an alleged acid attack. Mandy seeks help from authorities to know who had done this to her beloved dog.
Weeks ago, a Facebook post from Mandy surfaced on the internet. She tells the misfortune experienced by her dog. She shared that Gizmo went home shaking and covered in burns. It is extremely severe that it affected the dog’s eyes leading to blindness.
She brought Gizmo to their family veterinarian. The assessment found that the dog also suffers from oral injuries and internal bruising. They think that a strong chemical, called boric acid, was thrown on Gizmo. The severity of the injury had them thinking that this incident might be intentional and is not an accident.
Mandy has a suspected person behind this incident. Although, she chose not to name any names. But she shared on her Facebook post that daughters of her neighbors walked past her laughing when she asked them if they know something about the attack, leaving a hint of whom she is suspecting.
Mandy tried to file a complaint on animal cruelty charges at the Baytown Police Department in Texas but was transferred to Harris County because she is not a resident of Baytown City. Sadly, the latter told her that the incident is not a concern for animal cruelty, dismissing the filed complaint.
Heartbroken for how the authorities responded, Mandy decided to share Gizmo’s story on Facebook. Her post gained engagements, and she was able to receive donations and raised funds for medical expenses.
Despite feeling bad that her dog would now spend the rest of his life unable to see her, Mandy is deeply thankful to everyone who noticed her story.
