When most people see stray dogs, they often stay away from them because of how they look. Stray dogs don’t live the best lives, and they’re prone to suffer from parasite infestation. When dogs get infested by mites, it causes hair loss, which makes the dogs look diseased or unhealthy.
All dogs deserve loving forever homes. Stray dogs have been through a lot, and they need someone to rescue them. Thankfully, not all people are disgusted by how stray dogs look and would readily take care of these dogs in need. A girl named Andrea came across a bald and gray dog living in the street.
Andrea was always an animal lover, and she also adopted rescue dogs before. When she saw the bald dog, Andrea felt pity and wanted to help the little pooch. Andrea decided to name the dog Benji and took him to the veterinarian.
Andrea asked the vet what she can do to help, but the vet told Andrea that there was no chance that Benji would be able to make a full recovery. Benji was emaciated, had sores all over his body, and he also had skin infections. Benji’s ears were also scabbed. Because Benji looked horrible, the veterinarian recommended that Benji should just be put down.
However, Andrea refused to believe that there’s nothing she could do to help Benji. Andrea decided not to follow the vet’s advice and take care of Benji herself. It wasn’t an easy task to take care of Benji. Andrea still needed the vet to administer antibiotic injections, and she also had to give Benji regular baths to soothe his skin.
Andrea also read that coconut oil had excellent antimicrobial and antifungal properties. So, Andrea slathered Benji’s skin with coconut oil every day after giving him medicated baths. After a couple of weeks, Andrea started noticing a change in Benji’s appearance. Benji also started becoming more active and show more of his playful personality.
After a few more weeks, the bald puppy that had terrible sores and skin infections became a furry puppy that’s full of life thanks to Andrea’s care. People who saw Benji’s transformation couldn’t even believe that it’s the same dog. Here’s a heartwarming video showing how Andrea made it possible for Benji to transform into a happy and hairy puppy.
